1. How do I qualify for a partnership with Union for Gamers?

Requirements for qualifying to apply for a partnership are as follows:

  • Minimum of 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 views in the last month OR 8,000 views in the last month.

  • At least 80% of your videos should be gaming content

  • No copyright strikes currently on your account*

  • No community guideline strikes currently on your account
  • No issues with AdSense**

  • Not partnered with another network

*The use of copyright content within YouTube is very stringently monitored. We ask that you not use copyright music. As a video game company network, we DO have the ability to monetize actual game play. This means footage of you actually playing the game accompanied either by text on screen, voice over or edited in some way to make it uniquely yours. Please do not include cut scenes or trailers as they are not covered by gameplay monetization.

To expand on non-copyrighted music, there are quite a few websites out there which have royalty free music that can be used. Just to name a few: Free Stock Music, Free Music Archive, and Video Blocks (requires a membership to continue use beyond a trial).

**An Ad Sense account is not required to qualify for partnership with Curse, however if you do have one, we simply ask that you have not violated their terms of service and that your account has not been disabled for monetization.

If you meet all of the above and are interested, the link to apply is located here: http://apply.unionforgamers.com/apply

2. How does the partnership program work? What does it mean to be partnered with Union for Gamers?

Partnering with Union for Gamers on YouTube is a great way to earn money for your video game tutorials, gameplay walkthroughs, gaming comedy videos, glitches, easter eggs and more. The way this works is by Union for Gamers selling the ad space on your channel to large content specific companies like Blizzard, E.A, and Alienware! This means your pre and post-roll ads will be aimed directly at your target audience. When people see gaming ads as opposed to ads for companies like State Farm and Ford, they will be less likely to navigate away from your channel.

3. When, how and how often will I get paid? Do I have to reach a certain amount before I can get paid?

Union for Gamers pays out our partners every 30 days on the 10th of each month. We typically pay through PayPal, however exceptions are occasionally made for partners in countries that don't have access to the PayPal website. We pay out with no cap, meaning no matter what you earn you will be paid on the 10th of every month. This is just one of many ways Curse differs from other networks.

For more information, check out the Financial section of the Union for Gamers knowledge base.

4. What are the other benefits of a partnership with Union for Gamers?

Check out http://www.unionforgamers.com/partner-features for a large list of the benefits of a partnership with Union for Gamers!

5. Can I join Union for Gamers even though I'm under 18?

Yes. We accept partners of all ages. We do ask users under 18 for their parent or guardian's name and email address, for legal reasons. Their parent or guardian will also be sent the same contracts, after the minor has signed them. After the parent or guardian signs them as well, then they return to us, marked as signed, like usual.

6. Do I need to consistently upload videos?

One of the great things about being partnered with Union for Gamers is the freedom! All content remains yours, and we never ask you to adhere to a schedule. We understand that people have lives outside of gaming and want their channel to remain an outlet for THEIR creativity, not ours. That being said, the more you upload the more views you will get and the more money you will make.

7. Do I need to endorse Union for Gamers or refer other people?

No, you never have to endorse us if YOU don’t want to. However, you are more than welcome to endorse us in your videos if you so choose. We also have a new referral system in place that allows you to receive an additional amount of earnings based on how much your referred partner makes. As with endorsements, this is entirely optional.

8. How do I have my video featured?

Having a video embedded or featured on one of our web properties is a GREAT exposure tool. Many of our properties are seen by over a million sets of eyes per day, which means lots of views and subscribers for the authors of featured videos. To have a video embedded, just send it to us in an email with a short write up of what the video includes. We will try our hardest to feature your suggested video, however due to certain constraints the mods may choose a video they find more relevant.

9. What is the process for leaving Union for Gamers?

The process for getting your channel released from Curse is very simple. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Go here to start submitting a ticket: http://support.unionforgamers.com/tickets/new. Make sure to include your channel name!

  2. State in the body of the ticket of the ticket that you would like your channel to be released from its partnership with Curse and submit your ticket

  3. That’s it! You will get a response within 5 business days letting you know that your channel has been released.

Emma June 04, 2013 Financial

Our payments are distributed through PayPal. However, exceptions can sometimes be made for partners in countries that don't have access to the PayPal website or whose countries do not allow withdrawals from PayPal.

Your payments are calculated by taking a 90% share of what your channel has earned through YouTube. There is no hidden cuts or fees. You get 90% and Curse takes 10%. You will be paid regardless of what you made in a given month. The schedule for payments is as follows:

- January earnings will be paid on March 10th.
- February earnings will be paid on April 10th.
- March earnings will be paid on May 10th.
- April earnings will be paid on June 10th.
- May earnings will be paid on July 10th.
- June earnings will be paid on August 10th.
- July earnings will be paid on September 10th.
- August earnings will be paid on October 10th.
- September earnings will be paid on November 10th.
- October earnings will be paid on December 10th.
- November earnings will be paid on January 10th.
- December earnings will be paid on February 10th.

Emma June 10, 2013 Monetization

When you are uploading a video, there will be several tabs underneath the video preview that you can view. If you click on Monetization, it will show you a page where you have the option to monetize the video.

As you can see in the above image, the monetize icon on the right hand side is greyed out which indicates that the video is currently unmonetized. To monetize the video, you must change the Usage Policy to "Monetize in all countries".

Once you check the box, notice that the Monetization icon turns green. After choosing to monetize it, you can change a few of the settings as seen above. Once you have configured the settings to your desires, click save and your video will now be monetized!

From your video manager page, you can easily see which of your uploads have been monetized and which haven't as indicated by the green or grey monetize icons.
